Rafting the Colorado River

We all went rafting on the Colorado River today. We didn't get many "action" photos for obvious reasons, but here is a shot of the group that went. Damn we look good! The second picture is of my sister Courtney launching off some cliffs we rafted by.

Colorado Rocks

Hello from Colorful Colorado! Amie and I thought we would send you some pictures from our road trip & first few days of the Harder Family Reunion. It has been a blast so far. We drove through Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area & Dinosaur National Monument on the way here. The bottom two pictures are taken from Grand Lake Lodge in Grand Lake, CO. I could definitely live in this place. The Real Estate Prices are even a tiny bit cheaper than Sun Valley!

It takes a long time to come back to Idaho - Especially at 10mph

Hey everyone, I just wanted to update you on a cool thing coming to Boise. As a lot of you know, a crew called 10mph came through Fairfield in 2004. I wrote a blog post about it back then. They rode from Seattle to Massachussets on a Segway scooter. They made a film based on their trip and it has been winning numerous awards. Check out their site for more info and a trailer on the film. If you are interested, let me know. Perhaps we can all go check the film out when it comes to Boise? They will be playing at the True West Cinema Festival.

Redfish lake trails

Jennifer, Steve, Kathleen and I explored some of the trails around Redfish lake this weekend. On Saturday Jennifer and I hiked up to a really cool lily pond and waterfall, then on Monday we all went on a hike up to "grape" falls. It was pretty cool taking the Cirrhosis of the River to actually get to the trailhead.

Idaho Gives Wall Street a run for its Money

For most of the year, this state is known more for its potatoes than its financial firepower.

But for a few days each summer, Idaho gives Wall Street a run for its money as the nation's capital of capitalism, thanks to a crop of billionaires who jet in from all over the country to attend a media and technology summit held at an exclusive mountain resort.

This year's powwow, which began Wednesday with a series of closed-door meetings, is expected to attract 18 billionaires with a combined net worth of $140 billion -- exceeding the individual gross domestic products of more than 170 countries, including the likes of Morocco, Singapore and New Zealand.

The Instinct to Heal: Curing Depression, Anxiety and Stress Without Drugs and Without Talk Therapy

As some of you may already know, I am a big proponent of Natural Health. Call me crazy, but I think natural substances created by God (or however you want to classify it) are probably just a little bit more effective at balancing our bodies than a cocktail of man made chemicals once a day. This article is particularly interesting because it focuses more on mental health issues. Mental health cases are growing at an amazing rate in America, and therefore Pharmaceutical companies are developing more and more drugs to suppress these “conditions”. Instead of recommending changes in diets, exercise, and positive attitudes (all of which are PROVEN to help eliminate these problems), the FDA recommends psychotropic drugs so patients can ignore their problems, and possibly develop more problems resulting in more drug purchases. The worst part is that the majority of these patients are young children.

I’ll stop ranting. Please do take the time and read a little in to this article. Even though there are many people blinded by conventional medicine, I’m hoping you will realize that there are much easier, cheaper and most importantly more effective ways of treating common illnesses and disease.
